Flash back to 6 years ago: 3 months in Wuhan, China. My hometown.
-Summer of 2010-
Each year I return to my hometown,
I appreciate the familiar foods that brings me back to the past,
when things were simpler,
when I took my culture for granted,
when all I knew was what I knew at the time.
They brought back memories of childhood and who I was.
Filling breakfasts readily available from 6 am in the morning,
the food vendors gathered under one place, and I already know where to go to find my favorites. Inexpensive, time saving, and delicious. No complaints there.
I’d miss all of this breakfast experience when I’m eating a bowl of cereal at home.
